16 – 2pc Step Seal

The primary purpose of the Step Seal is to protect the main rod seal from the effects of shock pressure loading. It is important that the Step Seal allows adequate lubrication of the main seal and does not cause a pressure trap between itself and the main seal. The designs of Step Seals have features that help to prevent this possibility.  It has a bronze-filled PTFE ring with a pre-loaded lip energized by an O-Ring. It has a self-relieving design in order to prevent excessive pressure build-up in the cavity between the Step Seal and the rod seal. The special PTFE ring has the low frictional properties normally associated with this material but is strengthened by additives to reduce creep. It has low breakout friction so stick-slip is eliminated. Standard seals are supplied with a nitrile O-Ring, but other materials can be provided. The PTFE ring should always be mounted with the internal step on the pressure side. Sizes above 30mm are easily installed by deforming the PTFE ring into a kidney shape. Sizes under 30mm are best installed using a tool, details of which can be provided.

601– Rod & Piston

601- Is a high-performance general-purpose seal suitable for rod and piston use. It is engineered to affect a good seal in most industrial cylinder applications. The sealing lips are accurately machined trimmed to ensure good low-pressure sealing while the material resists extrusion at high pressures. 606 is a preferred option for back to back piston applications

605 – Rod

Is an asymmetric seal offering superlative dry rod sealing for light to medium duty applications and has become an industry-standard seal worldwide owing to its twin lip profile and consistent performance.

606 –Piston

606 –Piston—is an asymmetric piston seal designed to offer effective bore sealing in a wide variety of applications. The outer dynamic lip is shorter and more robust to provide improved sealing and compression set characteristics over conventional U rings. The seal can be used by itself as a single-acting seal or fitted back to back in separate grooves for double-acting applications.

610 - Rod  

Is an asymmetric "solid" seal offering excellent dry rod sealing for light and medium duty applications. It is designed to be less sensitive to pressure fluctuations than 605 'U' ring design. Manufactured in polyurethane - Hythane® ~ 181 - the type 610 is an extremely flexible seal making installation very easy.

616 - Rod  

Is a revolutionary seal, incorporating the sealing efficiency of the  605 with the compact grooves used by PTFE rod seals. It is an asymmetric twin lip seal, designed for light and medium duty applications where space and friction are at a premium. 616 is an extremely flexible seal making installation very easy

621- Rod

Is a top of the range high pressure rod seal. The design of the seal incorporates a unique profiled NBR energiser to ensure complete lip actuation under all pressure conditions and to cushion the seal against shock loadings. The shell is moulded in high performance polyurethane Hythane® 181, ensuring flexibility for installation and performance at low temperatures. The 621 also benefits from twin lip profile for dry rod sealing.

653 – Buffer Seal

Buffer seals protect the rod seals by reducing the magnitude of pressure peaks. Abrupt pressure peaks can occur by external forces acting on the piston rod, initiated by the fluid inside the cylinder. These pressure peaks can be far in excess of the system operating pressure. Buffer seals in combination with rod seals provide an effective rod sealing system for cylinders in heavy-duty applications at high temperature and pressure.

FR – Rod & Piston

 Is a medium to heavy duty single acting seal. The seal comprises a rubberized fabric U form base to which is bonded a rubber energizer. The seal section is pre-loaded by the housing when installed to ensure effective sealing at low pressure. When the pressure increases, the rubber energizes the U form to increase the sealing area and hence the efficiency of the seal. The strength and durability of the rubberized fabric combines with its ability to retain lubricant keeping friction and wear to a minimum. In a piston application, the FR should not be used back to back to make a double acting assembly.

HUE – ROD

HUE is a standard profile loaded U-cup with precision trimmed sealing lips manufactured in either a polyurethane or polyester shell energised by a high-quality O-ring and designed for common North American grooves. The sealing lips are trimmed at an angle to give optimal rod sealing performance. In most cases, the deep profile of the HUE provides extra stability needed to resist rolling in the groove. Together these features result in improved life and sealing. At low pressure, the O-ring helps to increase the sealing force preventing any bypass. Under most conditions as the pressure rises, the sealing force increases, and the O-ring ensures complete lip actuation

 KYB - Piston

Single acting nitrile rubber piston seal Contoured anti-extrusion ring. Used for cylinders that are required to hold their position (Driftless). Often used back on back on pistons.

MBRU – Buffer Seal

MBRU buffer ring is commonly used in high-pressure systems that are subject to pressure spikes. High-quality urethane insures that the seal will stay energized at all pressures while the anti-extrusion ring helps protect the rod seal from rapid changes.

Rod Only - U-Cup is a twin lip design that offers increased seal stability and superior sealing ability. This seal offers a knife trimmed lip for increased seal ability.  Produced from MFP U2150 compound. This seal offers extremely low compression set and excellent extrusion resistance and Hydrolysis Stabilized.

SUC –Symmetrical U-Cup

The Symmetrical U-Cup is suitable for rob and piston applications. The SUC features a knife trimmed sealing lip for increased sealing ability and design was enhanced using finite element analysis giving you the best product on the market. Produced from our U2150 compound the seal offers extremely low compression set excellent extrusion resistance.

XP – Rod & Piston Seal

Is a very versatile reciprocating seal design, for use up to 5,000 psi. The rubber expander creates a compression style seal while still operating as a pressure actuated U-Cup design. The result is a better low-pressure sealing and less start-up leakage. The primary function is a linear rod application when straight lip tooling is not available. These also feature the knife trimmed lip for increased seal ability. Glands must be 110% of the height of the seal used, free space is necessary to allow for the thermal expansion of the seal material and swell because of the system fluids, Pressure must be able to contact both sealing lips

XPRA- Rod & Piston

Is a top of the range high pressure rod seal. The design of the seal incorporates a X Ring NBR energizer to ensure complete lip actuation under all pressure conditions and to cushion the seal against shock loadings. The shell is moulded in U2150 TPU polyurethane ensuring flexibility for installation and performance at low temperatures.
